A wonky knee had me stopping in Uterga following the climb and descent from Mt Perdon (I would normally stop in Puente de la Reina). The albergue was almost full. I had forgotten that the bar/albergue is the center of attention for the locals Friday evening and the noise from downstairs almost drowned out the snoring. A number of the private albergue still not open along the way and the Camino remain busy for early April. A few camino vets I spoke with so far were abandoning their walks, as they were "just not feeling it" partially due to the numbers in a normally quiet time.

Today walked th 27km from Uterga to Estella. Mostly sunny and temps around 10 degrees C which this Canadian loves. Number of services improving along the way. Staying at the amazing and cleanest hostel in Spain at Agora Hostel in Estella. Lovely hosts... even washed, dried and folded my clothes for 6 euro. Privacy curtains and fresh linen on the beds. I know some camino purists pooh pooh the idea of such luxuries, but balls to that :). And to thoses waxing on in my last thread about prebooking on the camino (I knew that would get a rise out of a few ;)), I saw quite a few pilgrims wandering the streets of Estella in search of a bed at 5pm. Folks the camino is changing. That said, there was a bicycle race going through town and it is a Saturday night, so I won't say it's all pilgrim traffic so your mileage may vary. It wil be interesting to see tomorrow night in Los Arcos, which should be the real test. Cheers

The only thing that stays the same is that everything changes. A fact of the world let alone the Camino. Doesn't mean we can't share an opinion on it though.:p Interesting quote on some people bailing out due to numbers. I do enjoy the posts sir! Thank you.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
