It’s taken me a while to plan my exit from England but I really have finally got the perfect plan and I'm walking from London!
I discovered we have a full life-size replica of Master Matthew's romanesque Portal de la Gloria; a plaster cast taken from the Obdradoiro in Santiago. This replica is in the Victoria & Albert Museum in South Kensington, London. So I thought I would go and take a look at it. See the photos on my blog: http://whizz-kidz-pilgrim.blogspot.com
Then my thoughts went one stage better... brilliant! I will start my pilgrimage walking from there on 12th May. It will be an ideal photo opportunity for the charity I'm walking for (Whizz-Kidz) and then I'll then walk to Westminster Catholic Cathedral for my blessing, and visit the Whizz-Kidz charity offices nearby for another photo. All three can be visited walking within the hour. Then I'll just carry on walking out of London, then through Sussex to Newhaven harbour to catch the ferry across the Channel.
So, I'll start my pilgrimage from the 'Portal de la Gloria' and finish it 1300 miles later, with a final photo in the real Portal de la Gloria in Santiago. Isn’t that a good plan?
