We like to have the privacy of our own room (and WC if possible) when we have walked our two Camino's and would like to continue to do this while walking the PC. Having trouble finding anything suitable in Alverca Do Ribatejo or Verdelha de Baixo. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Hi, Marbuck,
If you look at the forum online guide from Lisbon to Porto, you'll see something listed for Verdelha. One pilgrim about four years ago said it was fine, but I haven't been there myself. There's a phone, so you can call for reservations. I am not sure it's "suitable" but I think it's the only thing available!

Verdelha is slightly off the Caminho, but the guide gives walking directions. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Bom caminho, Laurie

As time is not an important factor affecting our Camino I am starting to think that we may walk as far as Parque das Nacoes on the first day, stay overnight, then next day walk to Alverca and catch a train from there in the afternoon to Vilafranca de Xira and spend the night there. Looks like lots of accommodation in Vilafranca. Then the following day walk to Azambuja.

The only problem I can see is the 6+ km walk along the N3 from Vila Nova de Rainha to Azambuja. We hate major road walking, scared hell out of us on the GR65 in France. Maybe a taxi into Azambuja from Vila Nova if possible. That looks like the end of major road walking and from then on we should be able to cut our days down to around 20+ km with using the occasional taxi here and there to line up with accommodation. Any thoughts on this plan?
