Hi,
I have read in the Johnny Walker guide book that there is no accommodation listed for Wamba, is that correct because it sounds like a lovely old village that would be nice to spend a night in to have a good look around and visit the church.
Thanks judy

Hi there, I’ve walked through Wamba twice + there were no signs visible for local accommodation. Buen camino!

Hi, thanks for your reply, I will walk on and stay in Penaflor de Hornija and hopefully the church at Wamba will be open when I walk through.
Buen Camino judy.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
I didn’t get inside the church when I passed through, and I always enjoying seeing pictures of what I missed! Though to tell you the truth, those ossuaries give me the creeps. Here is the info on visiting from the town hall website, translated..
Church of Santa Maria Tel. +34 983 563 317 OR+34 983 563 317
Regular schedule is same as Tourism Office: Friday, 17 to 19,30. Saturday, Sunday, holidays, 11 to 13,30 and 17 to 19,30.
Rest of the week, you can arrange a visit by calling: 679 142 730.

Entrance fee, 2 €. Groups of more than 15, 1 €

Parts of the church are Visigothic, but most is Romanesque. There is more detailed architectural information on the website if anyone is interested. (Search on their website for “iglesia”)

And the website confirms that there is no lodging, but one bar, in town. Buen camino, Larie

Thanks Laurie, I will let you know if I am lucky enough to go inside the church.
