Hello,

I'm planning to start my Camino soon. I've been reading many posts from many veteran pilgrims, and would like your advice on starting my camino early March.
As far as I understand, Europe is having a warm winter this year, didn't snow well after New Year in many places.
I will be taking it pretty easy, using 80 days to walk from Le Puy to Santiago, mostly relaxed walk and lots of photos and food sampling.

Any advice is most welcome, regarding availability of Gits and Easter in France.

Thanks.

Peter.

Yes, winter has definitely arrived here in Europe. For how long it stays, nobody knows. My best advise would be to keep an eye an the current weather situation on the main points of the route and prepare for everything from cold (including snow/ice) to warm (including rain). Also get a Miam DoDo guide (available in Le Puy) as that one is the most accurate one for accommodation contact details and phone ahead and make sure the place you are aiming for is open. Thank you.
I have decided to delay 2 weeks. I've pack light, don't want to pack anymore winter gears than the essential.
Recived my pilgrims Passport, very excited. Not long to go.

We left Le Puy on the 22 nd April and it was so very cold on the Aubrac plateau. The water in the puddles was frozen. It rained a lot. Take wet weather and warm gear with you.

Will do, thanks for the info.
