Albergue Parroquial at Zabaldika

A highly recommended albergue 12 kms from Zubiri is the Paroquial Albergue at Zabaldika. It is run by the Sacred Heart Community. It is attached to the 13th century Iglesias Esteban, and set in peaceful surroundings. The facilities are modern and there are 18 places with single beds in a very spacious and airy dormitory as well as 2 separate rooms for a couple or family. A communal evening meal is provided as well as breakfast, with an Oración in the church in the evening. There are generally places available so you can avoid the rush for beds. Tel 948 330918

One of our favorite stops. We were lucky enough to get there first and get the two bunk private room. Everyone got an opportunity to ring one of the ancient bells too. We left about 9 on a Sunday and happened to meet up with a couple of the sisters at the noon mass at the cathedral in Pamplona.
