Alsa website problem

22 April 2018 if all goes well
I have tried to purchase a ticket online for April 20 - is this necessary? Could I buy a ticket on the day?
The Alsa website hasn't been working for the passed week, I tried regularly.
Could I buy a ticket on the day? Will there definitely be space on the bus or is it better to buy ahead?

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

I just tried Alsa.com and had no problems. Did you the accept cookies message that pops up? The site won't work if don't accept their cookies. Good luck!! And Buen camino!!

Hi Pixie I have found that all that angst can be done away with simply go on to Rome2Rio and we did it last year, it worked a treat and we have done the same this year and again we have etickets in our possession
and it only takes 10mins and a credit or debit card

Pixie - Maybe it works until you get to payment info? They do not accept US issued credit cards, only PayPal. I experienced similar frustration until I figured it out.

I had no problem buying tickets on their site last week. Do not remember if I used PayPal or a CC. Not sure about cookies, I would have accepted if needed to move through the process.

I've taken ALSA buses a few times - from Madrid airport, a couple times along the Camino, and other places in Spain not related to the Camino - I've always just bought tickets the day of travel, no problem.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

You haven't given any detail about what isn't working. I'll tell you about one problem I know of; to tell the website that your destination is St. Jean Pied de Port you have to spell St. out in full as Saint.

I agree It works with US credit cards. Purchased my ticket last week. Another poster commented it might be accepting the cookies I think this might be the problem. In either case try again accepting the cookies , buy the tickets same day or book on rome2rio site. Also I booked by downloading the app and it’s under the “International” tab I think as in from Spain to France.

I've tried three times to buy a ticket on Alsa to no avail using a credit card. Very annoying.

Hi Pixie,

Unfortunately, the Alsa website is notorious for acting up when there is a lot of traffic on it, so try it again when you have a chance, ideally during times when the Spanish are sleeping. I assume you're trying to buy a ticket to SJPdP from Pamplona, if you can't get a ticket online, don't fret because you're going before the peak season, so there should be plenty of seats, but if it's another destination, look into getting your tickets ASAP because some of the but routes are on a tier pricing system.

I bought a ticket at ALSA website at the 24 marts.
The page did not accept my mastercard, but accepted my VISA card .
I hope this helps.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
UPDATE: I paid via PayPal and it was perfect. I used the same card I tried on the website, but via PayPal it went through smoothly and now I have a ticket to Pamplona and after that to St. Jean Pied de Port, when I will begin my adventure.
