As I have posted in other threads, I had a brain tumor back in 2009. I suffer from some altitude issues and has anyone been through the Pyrenees that have dealt with this in the past?

Hi, DMC,
My hat's off to you! I wish you the best on your camino. As you may know, the highest point is 1430 m or 4719' high, and you will start in St. Jean at 180 m/ 594' Is it the absolute elevation level or the change in elevation that you are concerned about?

Buen camino, Laurie

I do some hiking in New England so 4k feet isn't that bad and I should be able to handle it.

Thanks for the reply.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Hi! Yes, the altitudes reached on the Camino aren't enough to affect you in terms of thin air etc, however as you have a specific medical issue it could be worth mentioning to the doctor anyway, just in case. Buen Camino!

On the opposite side of this issue, I live just above 7,000 feet elevation so I found that I had a little "extra" capacity on the Camino ascents when others who live near sea level were winded. It made up just a bit for doing very little physical training ahead of time. :)
