It has come to my attention that something I wrote on the forum yesterday has offended someone (possibly even more than one person), but the thread is locked and so I cannot offer my apologies there. Having slept on the matter, I have reached the conclusion that it would not be wrong to start another thread - not to reopen the can of worms, but to sincerely apologise for my thoughtless post. While it may be true that my intentions were good-natured joking and a direct reference to an earlier post in that thread, with the value of hindsight it is easy to see that there was the possibility of it being read entirely differently. As I explained to the moderator who kindly brought this to my attention, I am from an inter-racial family myself and having seen firsthand the effects of racial discrimination, and so should be more sensitive than most towards others regarding racial comments. Please forgive me for my lack of foresight. I certainly did not mean to hurt anyone and am sorry that I did not consider my words more carefully. It won't happen again.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Hello all. Here to give a brief account of my (and many others) first day on the Camino on May 1. The trip to Roncesvalles was tough. I went Valcarlos route because napoleon was very ill advised...
I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Can anyone tell me if food is available there… anyone stayed recently? Cheers
If you’re walking the Camino Portugues right now I’d recommend you avoid the complementario route into Pontevedra. While it is quiet and green and follows the river, it’s also a muddy mess. I...
