Arrive and depart by car

I'm planning to drive up to St Jean P de P (or as close as I can get to find a long stay car park) from Rome and then of course drive back afterwards.

1. Any information available on nearest long-stay car park
2. How can I get back from S de C to my car? Plane? train? Clearly not automobile.

Parking your car at St Jean

This is what your options are:

If you want to park your car for a longer period, to walk (a part of) the Camino from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, there are three possibilities:

* A place at a camping site. This will probably cost about € 1,50 a day. You yourself will have to make the necessary arrangements.
* The Renault garage, Route de Bayonne, Uhart Cize (next to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port), tel. (0033) (0)5 59 37 00 57. This will probably cost about € 40 a week. The garage will be closed on Saturday afternoon and on Sunday.

Santiago to St Jean

You could fly to Bilbao and take it from there. Spanair flies to Bilbao for about 44Euro.
