Becoming a Albergue Host

Can anyone advise on the procedure to become an Albergue Host? I have a group of students who would like to travel to the Camino and walk to a destination and host an Albergue for a week or two. I came upon a group of students doing just that last year who were college students from Campus Crusade for Life. They were hosting an Albergue somewhere after Portmarin, but I cannot recall the name. Any help with this would be appreciated.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Sorry no, but I do know that there are any albergues with stong ties to Confraternities in America, England, Holland, Belgium, and Germany. I would say where-ever you live, start there. They are always looking for volunteers, 18 hours a day for people who don't mind long hours, public relations with a smile, dealing with emergancies of every type, cleaning toilets, and having a great experience!.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Are you talking about "volunteering" for a few days or taking on the full role of a hospitaria? The first maybe achievable, the second usually requires training with a qualified person. If you really observe an Albergue host at work it's no picnic, it's hard work usually undertaken for two weeks. Hope this helps. Buen Camino ;)

Thanks all. I do know the hard work involved. American Pilgrims on the Camino requires that you have walked the Camino prior and have a training. I have walked (France 2015). However, the students I am bringing have not but will have by the time we reach our destination. Still trying to work out logistics to do this in May 2018.
