Hi, I am currently in Abadin. I have seen bedbug issues in the following public albergues.:

Santa Cruz de Bezana
San Vicente de la Barquera
La Caridad
Ribadeo
Lourenzá

I do not know if any albergues ahead have such problems too, I have seen 4 cases at least, one of them with over 50 bites!

Any info on the albergues ahead?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Add To the list:
La Isla
Camping Deva
The cleanliness ratings on the Buen Camino app are a pretty good indicator of the bed bug risk-every Albergue is at risk of a bed bug or two, but some take control very, very seriously (sheets, watching for evidence of bed bug bites on pilgrims and isolating them/washing all of the backpack contents, spraying and cleaning the beds every day...). While others have beds that look to be the same age as me and never washed.

A spare, pretty scarf.to wrap a few times around questionable pillows saved me from bites on my face, and was easy to wash in hot hot water.

A clean scarf is nice to put around the pillow where your face lies, but any bedbug is capable of walking around it when it senses your presence!:D

Maybe if everyone reports every sighting, we'll show the futility of these lists! If any places don't get on the list at first, with the increased traffic, they will soon!

As mentioned in my post, every albergue and hotel and pension is at risk from a few bugs carried by pilgrims. This is not the same as an uncontrolled or under controlled infestation. I was bitten at several locations not mentioned above. There is good advice elsewhere on the forum about preventing bed bugs at home when the Camino is done, and what to do if bitten.

However, there are some albergues that regularly have infestations , or have an infestation and are not able to get rid of it. It would have been helpful to know before I stayed in one such albergue as I did have a choice of other accommodation (I was not always so lucky), and I made use of the information to avoid another place.

What you say is true, and you have a good understanding of the real risks. It is very difficult to manage the balance of information - especially the difference between a sighting and a chronic infestation.

I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Money stolen from bag on bed while sleeping. Estelle municipal hostel. Not a big inconvenience as my passport and credit cards were left.
