Future Traveler - Muxia to Compestella (Sept 2022)
Hello. First time Camino walker :)

We will doing a reverse journey starting on the extension path -Muxia to Santiago de Compestella. We have 90% of the planning and accommodations complete. Need your help.

Our route is Muxia - Lires - Fisterra - Corcubion - Olveirao - Negreira - Santaigo de Compostela.

Question 1: We have yet to find sleeping accommodations in Olveirao. What recommendations do you have? Also, if we find a place off of the path, is it easy to get to and from via taxi?

Question 2: is there taxi or car service from La Coruna airport to Muxia or is the bus the only option?

Thank you for your assistance.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Hello, and welcome to the forum!

Sorry, but I can't answer your question from personal experience, since I haven't walked that route, but what sources or guides are you using? I see that gronze.com shows 6 accommodation options for Olveiroa. That site is in Spanish but it is very easy to figure out. Other apps are also available.

I would suggest that you walk a little farther to Lago(Mazaricos) and stay at Albergue Monte Aro. It's a newer place with its own restaurant/bar.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-

Wonderful. Thank you for your response. This is very helpful. We have been using, mostly, bookings.com and then tried to go directly to the websites of some of the places. We have not looked at gronze.com. This will be terrific. Thank you so much

Another fine suggestion. Thank you for your prompt response and the link.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

we are going to be staying at Casa Loncho tomorrow in Olveirao, which was recommended to us so will let you know what it’s like.
Tonight we are in A Peña staying at Rectoral San Marmede de Pena Hostel and it’s lovely. They do a communal meal if you want but we nipped to the bar next door and had a lovely salad

Hello. Thank you for your response. I hope your journey has been great thus far.

I just received an email back from Casa Loncho. They do not have availability on the days we are going to be there. We're on to Plan B for accommodations. Another person on this thread recommended we walk a little farther and find accommodations in Lagos. Seems like there is availability there.

Have a look at the site rome2rio for your transport. You will have to take 2 busses where your stopover will be Santiago de Compostela.
Good luck 🤞🍀😃
Hello and thank you for your response.

We have looked at rome2rio. Our current plan is the bus. Just wondering if we can get a taxi and/or car for hire to expedite the journey to Muxia.
