Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
WhatsApp for me too. It works great and messages are encrypted. It works well for Internet phone calls too I used it call my father from Santiago on his 80th birthday.

Any of them will work well if the WIFI is good. But it often isn't, so you can turn off the picture, or send a few snaps.

Viber worked very well for me to send simultaneous updates to my wife and parents (in a Group) each evening. Like most modern messaging platforms, it was very easy (takes about 4 seconds) to send your GPS location.

WhatsApp gets my vote as well. Great for my daily dispatch of a couple of captioned photos to a group.

Will be walking north from Lisbon next week. I'll be using WhatsApp and Messenger, but not looking forward to the countless messages that will include 'look what I'm eating' followed by pics of tortilla, Cozido a Portuguesa, Caldo Verde, Caramel Custard etc. etc. (my mouth is watering already).
So, I am thinking of dispensing with social media and introducing Semaphore to the Camino.
This will remove the need to speak in native tongue and worry about grammar and punctuation.
Obviously, there will be downsides to this, distance, visibility etc. - but just think of the peace and quiet in your bunk without the bleeping, clicking and fancy tunes!
Just a thought - and look out for the guy waving flags at the top of the hill. :D
Bom Caminho
