Booking.com is probably a better bet than this forum for an answer to that one. Tripadvisor suggests La Cabana as the Number 1 Hotel, then describes it as a 1950's style motel. There doesn't appear to be a lot of choice.

I liked the Casa Benilde on Calle Mercado, on an alleyway to the right just by the steps. Hosts were friendly and helpful, providing little maps with directions to restaurants etc.

Although I generally stay in pilgrim albergues a favorite restaurant spot of mine just east of Palas de Rei is La Cabana which also offer a very good rate for rooms for pilgrims. The basic atmosphere is a of a cluster of timber cabins. Always open one of their delights is a large veranda where one can eat, drink and check the web. The daily menu de dia is always tasty and the staff are very friendly

I liked the Casa Benilde on Calle Mercado

I loved this place. Lots of information on where to eat. Then as we came down into reception to go out for
food we heard "Christopher, Herbert, we've decided that it's going to rain", accompanied by providing
us with an umbrella each. Lovely people.

The Don Quijote as you enter Arzua had a hotel above the private albergue (2012)

I just stayed in Pensión Palas. It is a bit away from the center, but very clean and modern.

I stayed at Casa Frade - E30 but as the next day was Sunday they did not serve breakfast. In fact I formed the opinion that the whole town was still asleep at 8.30 am. I think the hotel across the road from Frade might have been a better bet. There was a restaurant near both that did a reasonable 2 or 3 course meal with wine or beer for E10-15. Getting back to Palas de Rei I stayed in the San Marco - private albergue E10 breakfast was E3-5 and there were a good number of place to eat nearby. Cheers

In September my wife & I stayed at Casa Camino in Palas de Rei. A bit off the Camino, but the most comfortable beds & gracious hosts on the Camino. In Arzua, we stayed at Casa Brandariz. Excellent Casa, great food & they provide transportation. Best of luck.

We stayed at the La Cabana just before Palas do Rei and it was great like a 50's motor hotel, it is a little out of town takes about 10minute walk into town. They have a good restaurant.

We then stayed at the Hostel pension Teodora in Arzua and it was one of our favorite stops right on the main street just off the main square. The food was great even packed us a picnic for the following day as we left before breakfast, it is only a block off the camino next to the visitor center.

I wanted to stay at La Cabana, but ended up at Pension Palas -- and found it very satisfactory indeed.

La Cabana was nice, although possibly a little overpriced. And it had the thinnest walls of any hotel I've ever stayed in! I was sitting reading in bed hearing this faint wooshing sound - eventually realised it was the people next door breathing!! The beds were head to head through the wall. Luckily breathing (and some talking) was all we heard....

New private albergue San Marcos has private rooms and folk gave it glowing reviews in late October 2015. I was looking for hotel Benilde which was closed for renovation but across the lane was a lovely Pension(forgotten the name) so I stayed there.
