Betanzos albergue - capacity temporarily reduced to 6 beds for emergency repair work.

La Voz de Galicia is reporting that water leakage in the albergue in Betanzos has caused structural damage which needs urgent repair. This has meant closing the main toilet areas leaving only the ground floor disabled-access bathroom. The decision has been made to only accept up to 6 pilgrims per night until repairs are completed.

A friend who lives in Santiago has just been speaking with the Betanzos tourist office. They hope to have the albergue fully open by Holy Week. In the meantime a local polideportivo will be made available as overflow accommodation.
