The Bishop in Burgos has opened the Holy Door of the Cathedral in Burgos, so that a Holy Jubilee Year has started on Saturday.
Catholic Pilgrims who follow all the normal rules (basically, enter through the Holy Door, confess either there or immediately upon returning home, attend Mass, Pray for the intentions of the Pope) may gain a Plenary Indulgence for themselves or for a deceased person.
This Jubilee Year has been granted in celebration of the 800th Anniversary of the Cathedral.
And so foot Pilgrims on the Camino Francès in the Jacobean Holy Year 2021 can therefore seek three Plenary Indulgences, as there is also the one being granted at Santo Domingo de la Calzada for seven years starting in 2020.
