You may have to change in A Coruña, - in which case the train to A Coruña is quicker than the bus. There are several bus companies serving the route on to Ferrol - look at https://arriva.gal/servicios/lineas-regulares

When taking bus from A Coruna, best to catch the express bus. Makes very few stops.
The other bus stops in every town along the way. Unless you want to see all the towns and all the bus stops, don't take it.
When buying ticket ask for "bus rápido."
