Camino By Sea From Ireland

Time of past OR future Camino
2015 Cycled from Clonmacnoise in Ireland, France, Camino Frances, Camino Finisterre.
http://www.tg4.ie/ga/clair/camino-na-saile/

For eight hundred years Irish people have being going by boat to A Coruna in western Spain and walking the camino from there to Santiago de Compostello.
Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich, Domhnall Mac Síthigh, Liam Holden & Breanndán Ó Muircheartaigh built a naomhóg, a traditional canvas covered boat from the south coast of Ireland. Over thy space of three years they sailed and rowed to Wales, down the west coast of France and the north coast of Spain to A Coruna.

In this program from TG4, the Irish language television station, the crew start in the Basque country and finish in Galicia. For the final leg of the journey they are joined by writer and singer Glen Hansard. They have their fair share of music and fun on this camino.

If you don't understand Irish, (you poor deprived people), the programme is subtitled in English!

Le hocht gcéad bliain, tá muintir na hÉireann ag dul ar an mbád go A Coruña i dTuaisceart na Spáinne agus ag siúl an Camino ansin go Santiago de Compostela. Thóg Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich, Domhnall Mac Síthigh, Liam Holden & Breanndán Ó Muircheartaigh a naomhóg féin agus déanfaidh siad an turas seo as Éirinn chomh fada leis an Spáinn inti. Sa chlár seo tosóidh an criú i dTír na mBascach agus críochnóidh siad sa Ghailís. Tagann duine eile ar bord don tríú cuid den aistear, an t-amhránaí agus scríbhneoir Glen Hansard. Beidh tuilleadh ceoil agus craic ar an Camino anois.

Ah, this poor deprived person is excited to see this, but the subtitles aren't working right now. Will keep trying. Sheila
