- I am leaving for Barcelona May 20th, 2019 and will begin my Camino in San Sebastian May 27th, 2019
Maggie, did you do any of the alternative routes on the Norte that run along the coastline as opposed to pavement? I’m starting from San Sebastián May 27th. Do you think I will need a jacket as well as a poncho?

I'm sorry I did El Norte over 4 years in one week blocks and didn't keep very good records. I think around Llanes we did take the coastal alternative. In short by and large we stuck to the main recommended routes and a lot of it is coastal footpath. A light jacket I would think for the end of May. Buen Camino
Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
