2019 Porto to Santiago.
Hello everyone,
I arrived home in Perth, WEST AUSTRALIA a few days ago after an amazing Camino experience. I walked from SJPDP in 40 days with 2 rest days. I started alone but was not alone for long.

The memories of the Camino will remain with me forever especially the wonderful Pilgrims I met along the way. The last 5 days we walked in continuous rain but mostly the weather was sunny. Except on the MESETA where I walked through an amazing storm with thunder, lightening and hail.

I managed to stay at the refugio at GABANEL and felt so welcomed by Betty and her wonderful husband ( Dugald, apologies if the name is incorrect) who were volunteers from UK.

For anyone contemplating the Camino, go for it. Take trust with you and all your concerns will disappear.

I called into Ivar to collect some luggage but he was not there. Frank was very helpful in giving advice about travel to Barcelona and also info about Santiago.

God bless each of you on your life journeys.
Sandra.

Hi Sandra,

we had a cup of coffee in Santiago while we were waiting for the Camino Travel Centre to open. It's good to hear from you,

Andy

Sorry I missed you both. I wish I weren't so busy these days... but I hope Frank takes good care of you all. :)

Greetings from a very windy and rainy Santiago,
Ivar

Thanks Ivar,

I wanted to thank you and the other moderators for this Forum. Walking the Levante would have been a lot harder without everyone here! :D Frank was great.

Hello Ivar,
Yes , I was sorry to miss you. Because of the website I felt I already knew you before I left Australia!! This website is invaluable, especially for those who live "down under".
Thanks for all your help to pilgrims.

Hi Andy,
What a surprise to see your reply. I really enjoyed our chat while we were waiting. I hope you have settled into everyday life again. Half of me is still on the Camino. I now understand why some do it again !!

Sandra.
