This is actually true so see yourselves forewarned!
Sirens are/were beautiful yet dangerous creatures, who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coasts and islands. There are very few sirens to be found anymore h-o-w-e-v-e-r, in the Royal Archives of Portugal are preserved the records of a costly litigation between the Crown and the Grand Master of the Order of Saint James as to who should possess the sirens cast up by the sea on the Grand Masters shores. Alas, the King won the day and it was enacted that Sirens and other marine monsters ejected by the waves upon land owned by the Grand Master shall pass into the possession of the king.
Any Sirens found on the Coastal Route, all Oceanids and Sea Nymphs should be respected, clothed, and sent COD to…Portugal, being a Republic, no longer has a king but the monarchial family lives on the present head of the House of Braganza, the former ruling house, is Duarte Pio, Duke of Braganza living now in Switzerland. He's your man!
