New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
In February most of the accommodation in SJPdP will be closed.

However when you arrive go to the Pilgrims' office of the Amis du Chemin de Saint Jacques at 39 rue de la Citadelle. They can provide you with a Credential and on site lodging assistance. Their telephone is 05 59 37 05 09. Open every day of the year they keep up to the minute lists of ALL available space throughout the SJPdP area, both pilgrim albergues as well as tourist accommodation. Also they offer current weather/trail info.

Good luck and Buen camino!

I will be starting my camino in Pamplona on Feb 4, and I need to arrive in Burgos by Feb 12 to meet up with a friend, from there I will bus or train to Leon and begin again from Leon on Feb 14 from there I need to be in Santiago by the 4th of March to fly out and meet my wife in Mallorca this gives me 25 days of walking is this enough to call myself a Pilgrim? I have a list of all the albergues open all year and I hope to reach all of them as planned... My wife did the Leon to Muxio and Fistera in 2010 in Feb-March and says 30km is possible but not every day...any advice? this is my first time posting about this I was going to go cold and take it as it comes but I couldn't resist posting here it seems so informative... I have one side trip to Lugo planned from Samos or Sarria I need to see this Roman wall being a Mason myself, I am overtaken with excitement this is the only thing on my bucket list and I have been dreaming of this adventure since 1989

The Lugo wall, and the whole old town are worth a detour. But why not just keep walking from Lugo on what is left from the Primitivo and merge back with the Frances in Melide?

Richard Clayton, you are a pilgrim the minute you set your feet on the way. Everyones pilgrimage is different. Own yours and enjoy it. Just a note: if you want a Compostela you must walk the last 100kms to Santiago. Buen camino.
