The Canadian Company ofPilgrims -Toronto Chapter- will be hosting their regular Spring Meeting on SaturdayMarch 31, 2012 at St. Matthews United Church (729 St Clair Ave WestToronto). Starting time is 1:30 sharp and all interested persons arewelcome to attend. Parking is very limited so please consider the TTC. Arrive early to complete applications for membership and credential requests. The2½-hour meeting should be very exciting featuring two well-known (see below) Caminoauthors, a short presentation from MEC, Camino photographs and aninformal Q&A session. Any questions regarding the fall meeting canbe directed to Patrick at http://www.torontocamino@rogers.com

If you wish be part ofour spring meeting please contact Patrick. We are asking for people to bring their Camino photographs, please contact Patrick toreserve a display table. We are again looking for 2 or 3 pilgrims to “pack for the Camino” and bring theirfully loaded packs to display exactly what they carried on “the way”. ContactPatrick for more details.

If you have any gentle used equipment that you want to donate for our “swap meet”please bring it to the meeting.

We also need general volunteers for the meeting’s various areas. Pleasedonate any canned or non-perishable food items at your local food bank, we donot have the facilities to transport these goods to a drop-off area.

GuestSpeaker Robert Ward is a writer and traveller with a special interest inpilgrimages. He is the author of VirginTrails (Key Porter, 2002), anagnostic’s guide to the history and worship of the Virgin Mary; and Allthe Good Pilgrims (Thomas Allen,2007), a lighthearted account of his several walks on the Caminode Santiago pilgrim road.

Robert’s freelance travel articles have appeared innewspapers including The Globe and Mail, The LA Times and The Chicago Tribune.His short stories and essays have been featured in such Canadian literaryjournals as Queen’s Quarterly. He studied at the University of Toronto (BA,English Lit, Religious Studies, Italian) and the University of Western Ontario(MA, English Lit), and taught English for several years in Japan.

Robert lives in Toronto with his wife, Michiko.Upcoming projects include essays on literary pilgrimages and a walk alongItaly's Via Francigena, the medieval road from northern Europe to Rome.
