What a fabulous albergue this is! I feel very lucky to be staying here tonight, the owner is very friendly and helpful, the building wonderfully old (medieval) and full of character and there are even hammocks to relax in on the terrace - I wish I could stay for the week!

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Was it fairly empty? It was when I was there. We are likely to hear how everything was completo in Estella even though everyone walked past this place to get to a guidebook end-stage! It is a great place.

I loved it also!
This private albergue is in a 300 year old house sensitively renovated by the Spanish-Brazilian hosts! Originally grapes were crushed for the delicious local vino tinto on the rough pebble floor of today's main entrance hall. The on-going adaptation is charming. Family furniture, bits and pieces, plus Ikea basics are well mixed together. One unique feature is a shady loggia strung with colorful hammocks for siestas out of the summer sun! the dorms are comfy, the showers powerful and the large kitchen is handy for group meals. ... I hope to return this autumn.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

It is fairly busy tonight falcon but not completo, people were still wandering in fairly late and able to get a bed.

Thanks for sharing your photo Margaret :) There is a lovely atmosphere here tonight, everyone is charmed by the place and by our lovely hosts Simone and Miguel.

I absolutely agree!!, this is of of my favourite Albergues on the Frances....we couldn't resist cooking a communal meal, in that lovely kitchen & I ended up sleeping all night out on the hammock!!....best nights sleep for weeks :)....is Miguel still soothing weary limbs with his amazing massages?

I had the best night of my camino so far at this albergue! Loved it. It had such a great vibe :)

I just completed my Camino a few days ago, and I remember the Casa Màgica as being a highlight; the hospitalera there is such a nice lady working so hard. The only regret I have is that I did not stay for the (vegetarian) dinner there because I felt like having a piece of meat, –big mistake as according to my companions, I missed out a fantastic multi-course and varied delight of fresh vegetables.

I agree this was my favorite alburges. This was my second night on the Camino as I started in Pamplona. Our plan was to go to Estella but it was so hot and I was exhausted. I needed to stop early. We would up meeting up with an Aussie couple that we walked with until Burgos and then connected again in Santiago. We will be going to Australia to visit them in a few months. If I didn't need to stop "early" that day I likely would not have met my "family."

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Stayed here in 2012. I also found it by lucky accident, really lovely place and the people were so helpful. I would definately stay there again.

My favourite Albergue of my 2 week 'taster' Camino. I actively sought out Casa Magica as I had read such good things on this forum. They were all true it is a beautiful place but more importantly the hosts are wonderful caring people. Food was SO good, perigrinos SO happy that each and everyone was cared for individually as they needed to be be. Foot and leg care is still being given to those most in need. I was instructed to soak my feet in salt/vinegar water and there was an outdoor armchair provided with a purring cat on my lap I felt as deliciously happy as I've ever been. We were even treated to a wonderful 'light show' for about half an hour lightening lit up the sky (no thunder) we were mesmerised ....... It WAS magical! Thursday 3rd Octber 2013. A day to remember forever.

I stayed at Casa Magica when I was in Villatuerta last week. It is absolutely my favorite place on the Camino so far. Simone and Miguel are lovely people who provide a warm and friendly home to pilgrims. Miguel cooked a vegetarian Paella that night that was literally one of the best things I have ever eaten! Do yourself a favor and stay there if you can.

Stayed there in August, wonderful.
There is also a very good cafe on the main road [ not the camino] called Bar Lara.
Simone sent us there for a late lunch , you won't get better , full of workers & locals and lovely staff.
Will always recommend Villatuerta and Casa Magica.
PS Loved the dog.
