Christmas on the Camino

Time of past OR future Camino
Planning from SJPdP 2015-16 winter
Merry (belated) Christmas from the Camino Frances! I wanted to share two photos from the wonderful Christmas dinner that they hosted at the Burgos Casa de los Cubos albergue on Christmas Eve. After having only seen two other pilgrims in the previous five days (and knowing both of them would not be in Burgos), we thought we may alone there. We were happily surprised- Several longer-distance pilgrims, as well as a few ending a week and a few beginning a shorter section. It was a wonderful dinner- two hours of lively conversation, and then the hospitalero took us to the midnight mass at the big Cathedral. Wonderful!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Happy for you that you and pilgrims friends had a good Christmas. Now you can looking forward to New Years Eve's grapes ;-) Buen Camino, SY

Fantastic! Midnight mass and Christmas on the Camino. What a great experience to have.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Very lucky you got sheltered by the cathedral mass in Burgos!!
Something else to be remembered as the time goes by !!
Buen Camino !!

Got back home two hours ago this evening. Christmas in Santiago is like a dream. The Pilgrim House folks invited all pilgrims to a Christmas party there. I was informed of the party by the pilgrim's office. Great place too. Thank you Gail and the others (sorry.... I don't recall your names). Great food and lots of it and happy times. We went from the party to Midnight Mass. Simply beautiful. Thank you St. James.

That sounds wonderful! Thank you for sharing your experience. I imagine that I'm not the only one feeling a little green with envy :)

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
What a lovely thread.

I know where I would head now if I ever found myself alone at Christmas!
