Camino Finisterre
I am walking only the route to Finisterre in late July and want to lighten my pack. Will I need a fleece or is a long sleeve shirt enough?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I doubt you will need a fleece but you will probably need a waterproof. Of course, weather being weather, I could be wrong.

Santiago to Finisterra in July? Pack a waterproof jacket / poncho (which also will provide some insulation against wind / cold) and leave the thick fleece behind. At that time of the year it is rarely cold, but almost certainly wet. There is a reason why Galicia is sooo green ;-) Buen Camino! SY

This is such an individual thing -- there is so much variation from one person to another. I always carry a lightweight fleece (polartec 100 or 200) and have always used it, whether I walk in May, June or July. Rain brings the temperatures down a lot, and those beautiful old stone buildings seem colder in the damp and in the rain.

If you're like me and always bring a sweater to the movies in high summer because the AC is blasting, you might want to consider a fleece.

If you go out to the lighthouse in the evening and have a bonfire, you can expect a cool breeze off the water. If you are warm, dry, and in good company, you may stay out all night.
I would take the fleece.

Also, if you go out, intending to build a fire, purchase the wood in town. There is none on the point.

Buen Camino,
David, Victoria, Canada.

Thanks to everyone for their replies! Detail, details! I want to be prepared but light. My friend who did the camino last year tells me the camino will provide!

I was there in October and did not need my fleece, though the rain jacket got lots of use! Windy, wet, but not particularly cold.
