Convertible Hiking Pants that zip off above the knee?

As the title suggested, does anyone know off a good brand of convertible hiking pants that zip off above the knee?

I've looked in so many outdoor shops in Ireland but all convertible pants have the zips exactly on my knee.

I'm roughly a 31-32 leg. It's so annoying. A few hours walking and my knees would be raw!

The guy in the shop I went to had done the CF and made a point of not recommending zip off pants for just that reason. His drove him nuts.

Hi, I am not a fan of zip offs. I have purchased three pairs...different brands but ended up with the same result- irritated and grazed skin. I just wear either hiking shorts or long pants depending on the weather.

I also am not a fan of convertible pants--on a summer Camino the sun was too intense to forgo the legs, and convertible pants are heavier than normal long pants. That being said, Kuhl makes a great version with articulated knees that zip off above my knees (and they make them in several inseam sizes).

I'm not a fan of the zip off pants and found they rubbed around the knee area. Personally prefer dedicated trousers/shorts.

I won't either recommend zip off pants. Maybe a good pair of high quality light and elastic pants that you can roll up if you want to.

I've got a Haglöfs rugged II fjell. Not cheap but marvellous.

I am also a shorts person. Only time i put on pants is for continuous rain. One way to determine if the zip off pants open above/below knee is to find out the "inseam length" when converted.

So many people here are against convertible pants. I've done the Camino and several other hikes wearing only convertible pants. My favorite are from Prana. I never had any problems with my skin or irritation. They are light as air and perfect (for me). I guess it is a matter of preference.

Never had a problem with convertible pants. Wore them on the Camino; along the Andes; in the Amazon Basin; etc.

Have you considered getting the below-the-knee pants and just folding them up? That's what I do. I have never had a problem.

As a very last minute decision I packed some very light weight three quarter pants. Best decision ever. I lived in them. They were light and cool without having to worry too much about sunburn. I did have a lovely 10cm brown patch between the top of my boots and the bottom of my pants though that took months after the Camino to correct ;-)

My zip on my Craghoppers is above the knee - so my brown patch is from ankle to there! Never had any irritation problems. I pack only one bottom for two pairs as I rarely wear the lower parts and then only in cold evenings.

My Boyfriend walked in Prana Zion Convertible Pants last year and loved them. He is taking them along again this year as we walk the Chemin St. Jacques in May

Get a pair that rolls up and with ties on the side. They won't go above the knee but good enough.
