Hello
I don't think question has been posted before- when and what to expect re Corpus Christi in Santiago on June 7th . I've been asked by 4 local parishes to organise and lead a group- about 25 to walk Sarria to Santiago. We hope to have young adults..but I presume they'll be the smaller section of our group.
I've walked solo so far to Logrono the last 2 years (as I'm a priest and it's harder and harder to get Sunday cover, and flights are Tuesday- it's a case of 3 days walking here and there).
June 2nd-June 9th 2015 are our dates. June 7th is Corpus Christi (The Feast of the Body & Blood of Christ). Some in the group were excited about the prospect of witnessing a Spanish Corpus Christi Procession. I think they anticipate something very colourful. Would that be the case in Santiago De Compostella?
The following link of Corpus Christi 2009 in Santiago did NOT lift my hopes in that regard!
The Archdiocese of Santiago at http://www.archicompostela.org/_web/
makes reference on Sunday June 7th "Día Nacional de Caridad: Día del Corpus"
To make it in time, I'd have to follow option 2 as set out below which entails a 25 & 30km consecutive days walk. Thanks.. I'm trying to minimise disappointment in our group.
