Correos rucksack transport question

Next camino planned, May-June 2024
I am filling out the Correos bag transportation itinerary and my question is, what do I select as my next destination if my hotel/inn/BnB/apartment is not listed on the drop down menu? Can I select an inn or albergue or other place that is fairly near to my lodging or should I write in my lodging name and address on the tag? I am using Booking.com to make all my reservations so I'm not staying at "unknown or little known" places and none of them are remote. I am walking Camino del Norte. Thank you.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
It means they won't deliver to your next place. I would only have deliveries where I make a reservation. Albergues and hotels are not reimbursed to accept and watch your bag. Many places don't take bag deliveries and some don't take reservations either. I would only make a reservation where deliveries can be made. You can see on the drop down menu where Correos delivers so perhaps change your reservation to one of those places.

You can also wait and make bag reservations day by day. You call Correos ahead the day before. This allows you to walk at your own pace rather than book a distance and then find you'd rather walk slower or faster.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Correos are good at replying to emails in English, so you could say you have a reservation at xx, and why can't you find it on their list?

I stayed at a couple of places that Correos did not list. I phoned them up and they asked that I get confirmation from the accommodation that they accepted bag deliveries. In one place they said it was shut when they arrived and they delivered to a different place but told me where my pack was. It turned out that where I stayed had a side door so in the morning I sent them a photo of the door and they were happy with that and picked up my bag. I did find them very helpful when I contacted them by phone and they would pass me to an English speaker.

Ideal pocket guides for during and after your Camino. Each weighs just 40g (1.4 oz).

Correa’s will deliver to any place that has an attendant 8am-2pm or where you can give them a code to get in. So if you know that, just put the name in. I had same questions and just emailed them and they helped me out. Otherwise you can pick a place close by that is on the list and write that down and then just drop off at that location by 8am.
Their service so far has been great!
Buen Camino

Here is what they sent me:

In order to add an accommodation that is not on our list to a reservation, it must meet at least one of the following requirements:

*Reception service from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
*Access code - so that our route staff can access to drop off/pick up suitcases.

If the accommodation reception service time does not cover the requested time, it cannot be added. Additionally, please note that the delivery staff does not undertake to make phone calls to the accommodations before the service there.

If the accommodation confirms the reception service or the access code, you must send us the name, address and contact telephone number of the accommodation, in addition to the access code if applicable. After that, we will confirm whether or not it is possible to add it to the reservation.

We are waiting for your instructions.

Best regards.
Saludos y ¡Buen Camino!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Can you clarify how the booking day by day with Correos works? I'm interested but don't understand how I make that happen. Thank you--this is my first camino and I leave in 2 weeks. So excited!

You can check the Correos drop down list for the places they deliver to and then make a reservation. Then you call Correos and update them on where to deliver the bag by a certain time each evening. They speak English. You also tag your bag and place the destination on the tag.

This is in my opinion safer than making reservations for your whole trip. It allows you to learn how far you can comfortably walk each day before making a lot of reservations that you may regret or need to change later due to fatigue, injury, or just wanting a rest day.

So you would basically each afternoon book the next morning's pickup individually, and not book anything else in advance at all? Thank you! Do you happen to know the approx. pricing if done day at a time?

I think they give you a discounted rate for the whole trip, but you are not required to give a scheduled pick up and drop off for everything at once. You can check pricing on their website.
