They have a 700 loft. As for weight, my kitchen digitsl scale says 464 grams, including its bag. Add a few grams for the extra 3 inches.I am going to have to check those out. Do you remember, or does the ad say, how much they weigh?
My other question is are they as warm as a fleece bag liner. The liner is 20 deg of warming. Paired with my silk sheet I get a total of 30 deg of warm over the air temp.
I'm not familiar with this way of rating sleeping bags or fabrics. How does it work? The liner is 20 deg of warming. Paired with my silk sheet I get a total of 30 deg of warm over the air temp.
The silk sheet used inside a regular bag adds 10 deg F to the rating of the bag. The fleece adds 20 deg F. So 30 deg F over room temp is how I am guessing. I slept in it at my sister's, with the exterior doors open and a low of 50F, was warm all night. woke up in the morning half covered and was warm. It was too hot to sleep under the fleece at 65F.I'm not familiar with this way of rating sleeping bags or fabrics. How does it work?
Montreal, yesterday. I'm sure they will arrive to all stores across the country soon.I've been looking for one of those down throws . . . Did you happen to see them in the Vancouver Costco? Thanks!
Apparently also 700. And they do feel and look identical this year.Do you remember what the loft rating was for the older duvets?
That was quick!View attachment 35469 They are available in the Vancouver Costco too!
I ordered from Costco.com. I think they're called the Double Diamond down throw. $40 US for 2.I've been looking for one of those down throws . . . Did you happen to see them in the Vancouver Costco? Thanks!
Mine of a year and a half ago came with a bag that compressed it quite a bit. Kept me snugly on cold nights, but yes it was awfully slippery. Next Camino I will safety pin it to the mattress.View attachment 35469 They are available in the Vancouver Costco too!
These also come with the bag. In fact the back is smaller, so less bulk in the backpack.Mine of a year and a half ago came with a bag that compressed it quite a bit. Kept me snugly on cold nights, but yes it was awfully slippery. Next Camino I will safety pin it to the mattress.
Yes, they are sold with the camping/outdoor sports aisle.Exciting news for Aussies. I found them in Costco at Crosslands yesterday. Hidden in an aisle with a few other camping things. I'd looked for them before in the sheets/blankets/rugs/throws section and not found them. They are $Aus29.
Smaller is better. I might have to get another one! These also come with the bag. In fact the back is smaller, so less bulk in the backpack.
Or just get a smaller compression sack for greater compression.Smaller is better. I might have to get another one!
I added a drawstring.I bought one at Bed Bath and Beyond. Have you added anything at the bottom to make an envelope for your feet? A strip of Velcro, a zipper? Thanks
Can't find the new ones in Costco (Austin). I'll have to try BB&B.I bought one at Bed Bath and Beyond. Have you added anything at the bottom to make an envelope for your feet? A strip of Velcro, a zipper? Thanks
Have the snow suits for children arrived? The duvets should arrive rwo weeks later. At least that's how it happened here. Can't find the new ones in Costco (Austin). I'll have to try BB&B.
They don't carry snowsuits in Austin, Texas.Have the snow suits for children arrived? The duvets should arrive rwo weeks later. At least that's how it happened here.
I know. They don't carry snowsuits in Austin, Texas.
With the bag it comes with, it's the size of a soccer ball. But if you press on it you could compact it into 6"x7".How small down do these compress?
It's actually a bit more expensive, but not much. The fill is only 650. But for non Costco members can be a good alternative. Here is another one, even less expensive, but the sale ends today August 11.

I bought mine on line when my local store, (South Carolina, USA) didn't have them in stock. And as far as it being 'slippery' - I folded mine in half, put it inside of my silk liner and pinned the bottom corners from the outside. This way I could slip in between the two layers or under both, depending on the temperature. By the end of my Camino, May '17, it was too warm and I only needed the silk liner.I've been looking for one of those down throws . . . Did you happen to see them in the Vancouver Costco? Thanks!
Definitely in the Langley Costco. Got one!I've been looking for one of those down throws . . . Did you happen to see them in the Vancouver Costco? Thanks!
Never thought of doing it that way - time for an experiment!I bought mine on line when my local store, (South Carolina, USA) didn't have them in stock. I brought one along on the Primitivo in July and loved it. It weighed 8 oz fewer than my sleeping bag, took way less room in my bag, and was really warm. It's the way I go from now on.Ok, improved is a bit of an exageration, but they are 3 inches wider putting them at 60x70. Loft is 700.
Also, they are now rebranded as an Eddie Bauer product. This may mean they will be sold elsewhere than Costco?
Colours are dark grey, light grey, navy and burgandy.
Still as slippery.

Now how much does it weight and how tiny can it be packed?View attachment 35469 They are available in the Vancouver Costco too!
They weigh about 15 ounces. If you want to get the weight down you can cut it approximately in half, and bind the cut edge. Then you can tuck it inside a silk liner for extra warmth. If it's hot, and the plastic covered mattress is sticky it's nice to put under the silk liner. Now how much does it weight and how tiny can it be packed?
