Crowded in August in St Jean Pied de Port ?????

My niece was asking the difference between the starting crowds in StJPJ / Roncesvalles in July, August , September.
Last year the figures in Santiago showed 33k, 41k, 27k ""finishing"" in those months [ according to German statistics]

HOWEVER

I was wondering if the heat in August is a deterrent from starting in this month in St.J

Elizabeth has only 4 weeks away from Oz , will be finishing in Leon this year , heat will not be a factor but the ""crowds"" might be as she wishes to take her time.

We have always walked in Spring or Autumn so have no idea how many commence on the border in these 3 months.
Any advice JW, Ivar or Falcon ??

There is a graph on the bottom of page 2 of this pdf which gives a monthly break-down of the number of pilgrims who attended the pilgrim office in St Jean in 2012 http://www.aucoeurduchemin.org/spip/IMG/pdf/stats12.pdf

Some of those may have walked one of the routes in France but I would expect that most would be heading to the Camino Frances.
