can you rent a bike at st jean de pied de pont?
is the road step on the first section,?
is it different route then the walk?

Hi,
I hate being negative but if you are injured why are you going now? The Camino will still be there after your body has healed.
I cannot answer your query re hiring a bike but can tell you that it is a long unrelentingly steep cycle from St.J.P.D., on the road, to Roncesvalles.

1 Johnie Walker has answered.
2 Not especially steep just a long, long, continuous climb
3 Do you mean the first stage or the whole route. Generally there are road alternatives to the path for every stage and while it is possible to ride on the path if you are doing this to look after your legs the road routes will be easier.
