Does it never stop?

OK so I walked last August/September and got the bug and walked again this May/June. I visited a friend this September who lives near the Madrid route, so I just had to follow a bit of it didn't I? (well three times to be honest) Now I am in England and my teacher daughter wants to have a few days together at half term. The Shropshire hills are on my doorstep, so I thought we could go somewhere for a few days where at her suggestion we could do some little strolls. So I start investigating. Before I know it I am exploring the Offa's Dyke two week hike, then looking at the Madrid to Sagahun route and then reverting back to longing looking at the Norte Coastal, Tunnel and Primitivos Routes. It is raining outside, cold and miserable. Yes, it can (and has been for me) like this on the camino, but I don't really care so much when I have my mochila on my back instead of a keyboard in front of me! Talk of going off topic! But I really can't help myself, I miss the camino so much!!!!!

In my experience it not only never stops it gets more intense! Just give in to the urge...but a ticket to Spain!

You mean move to Spain? Seems more sensible to simply move there eh?

Al, I made my first Camino when I retired in 2010 and I go every year. Once you get the bug there are three phases to life, you are on Camino, recovering from your last Camino or preparing for your next Camino!

My husband told me the other day that I was obsessed with the Camino. He is basing his opinion solely on the fact that I read the Forum messages every day, attend monthly pilgrim meetings in Sydney and go on pilgrimage every year.

From the people I mix with, this seems more normal than obsessive.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
What a great thread. The Camino is totally under my skin. The worst thing in my life will be to think I will never return.

Julie - you sound absolutely normal to me.
There's obviously something seriously wrong with your hubby. Does he need counselling?

Keep up the banter guys, your making me feel a little better. But something next year is a must be and I am trying to avoid the pain that comes from deciding and then day counting.

I always say " The Camino de Santiago ends in Santiago de Compostela. But the Camino never ends." at least in my case. And I see it happens to quite a lot of others as well.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons we are all here in the forum. To keep the flame of the Camino lit and to help others who seek advice and info as others have helped us in the past.

Buen Camino!

In my experience it not only never stops it gets more intense! Just give in to the urge...but a ticket to Spain!

Now why did you go and say that JohnnieWalker ! "a single ticket to Spain", I thought I had dismissed that thought and you go and plant it in there again !!!
