One thing that we tried to do on our trip was download photos to our blog while we were on the trip. I had not brought a USB cable to connect the camera to the computers and most computers did not have SD card readers. In Sarria, we picked up one of these little devices to read the SD cards.

This one is being sold on eBay, and I cannot find another version elsewhere, but this is the exact unit. It was sold under the i-Joy brand name and cost 5Euro.
It was very fast, did not use up my camera's battery, and was light.
I would recommend it to anyone interested in loading photos on the web, or burning CDs of backups. Not sure how many of the PCs had burners but most had drives.
