Egeria House in Santiago has now been opened for just over a year. This is the home of @SYates in which she welcomes and supports pilgrims.

Egeria House is a few minutes walk from the Cathedral - map on the website.

Every afternoon from Monday to Friday Sybille hosts pilgrims from all over the world for tea, coffee, cold drinks, biscuits and conversation. Weekend meet ups by arrangement.

Sybille also has two spare bedrooms which she makes available, particularly for pilgrims in need, on a donativo basis.

It's always best to let Sybille know in advance to check availability if you want to stay with her. SMS is preferred and contact details can be found here http://egeria.house/contact/.

And if you need any other help in Santiago, just contact her and she will do her best ...

@SYates is a good friend, and a good help for pilgrims. Highly recommended. And her house is beautiful. Looking very much forward to offering her a drink or three in not so long time from now. As @t2andreo has given the link on how to contact her, use it.

I was blessed to be able to stay in one of those rooms in July and can only reiterate whatever praise others have written about the various kinds of support that @SYates is offering pilgrims in Santiago.

Only slightly off topic, but just a reminder...
Egeria House (and Pilgrim House, I believe - @natefaith can correct me if I'm wrong) runs on a donativo basis. Which is not a quid pro quo but rather 'paying it forward' - so if you are generous, future pilgrims are sure to get a warm welcome, and Sybille receives the gift of worry-free sleep.

I can only reiterate what others have said regarding @SYates. Due to Sybille's kindness and generosity, Santiago feels like home. Last year I arrived in Santiago three times (from the Norte, Caminho Portugês da Costa and Inglés) and stayed with Sybille. This past June I once again had the pleasure of meeting other Forum members and catching up with Sybille during my few days in Santiago.

Let's support her and Egeria House so that her open house and generous services may continue.

Part of the Egeria house (and @SYates) activity is a Sunday Anglican worship in a hotel Parador at Obradoiro praza. During the volunteering work, I took part on two Sundays and it was amazing. Very much recommended to everybody - it is open community, not limited to anglicans (I am from evangelical church myself). Small group, informal, very friendly and open. Thanks, Sybille, for inviting me!
