Hi everyone,

Pilgrim House Welcome Center opens tomorrow on Monday, March 6, for 2023!

As always, the team would love to meet you (or see you again!) after your Camino. The Camino can be an emotional and spiritual journey, and Pilgrim House is designed to be a welcoming and comfortable place where you can reflect on your pilgrimage. We also offer a variety of practical services that recently-arrived pilgrims often need.

The address is Rua Nova, 19, Santiago de Compostela, just a couple blocks behind the Cathedral. Please note we're located under some arches and can be hard to see. On either side of us are the Cervezería Rua Bella and the Teatro Principal.

Opening hours are:
Monday: 10am - 6pm
Tuesday: 10am - 6pm
Wednesday: Closed for meetings
Thursday: 10am - 6pm
Friday: 10am - 6pm
Saturday: 10am - 6pm
Sunday: Closed for rest

Whatever you find you need - and even if you don't need anything - please do come by and say hello, make yourself at home, and check out the resources on offer:

* There is a living room area and a kitchenette if you need to sit and hang out for a bit.

* Staff are always available to talk if you need a listening ear.

* Join a Camino Debrief at 4pm if you'd like to reflect on your pilgrimage with other pilgrims. A staff member facilitates discussion.

* Take a 1-page journaling/ debriefing guide home with you. We have them available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, French, Italian, Danish, Norwegian, Polish, Korean, Chinese, and several other languages! (There's something for everyone! :D)

* The back room and patio are places for solitude, reading, and journaling. If you need time away from the hustle and bustle of Santiago, these quiet spaces are for you.

* A curated library. Read these books at your leisure in Pilgrim House, and if you'll be in town for a few days, you can borrow a book for a small deposit. There are pilgrimage-related books, modern classics and classic classics.

As before we provide laundry services, boarding pass printing, and daily backpack storage* on a suggested-donation basis. These services need to be requested in person. (*Please do not send your pack to us by mail or transport service, as we will not be able to accept it.)

To be clear, Pilgrim House is only open during the day (we don't have beds) and is a non-profit, non-commercial initiative.

Buen Camino if you're preparing to go out on the trail this year! See you soon! :)

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

Noted and thank you for your services 🙏🏻

As you may know, I have gotten some health issues (waiting for final test results), so am uncertain if I can do it this year. But if I can, I can promise you both, Nate & Faith, a tapas evening at Do Bispo on my card.

Hope the results come back with clarity for you. Take care ♥️. Do Bispo would be great, next time you’re here.

Faith, I will indeed be dropping in to Pilgrim House sometime in late April, or early May, with a great niece - she is 18 and seeing the Great Big World for the first time - so exciting. Prayers for a good year for you and family.

Thank you so much. I've just put your details in my Camino planning notes. I'll look forward to seeing you in early-mid July :)

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I will definitely come to visit after arriving in Santiago in June - my first Camino. Thank you for the wonderful care and services you provide!

Thank you, Faith and Nate! I stopped by after walking the Camino Ingles in 2021 and you guys were amazing! Thank you for all that you do.

Wishing you joy and love in this new Pilgrim year. Wish I could help out as last year but have several other travels on my plate.

Yes, indeed, @natefaith thank you for all you do - including introducing me to @CaminoDougL who gave me excellent, up-to-date information as I was about to set out for Ferrol and the Ingles! You (inclusive of your 'helpers') and the Pilgrim House are the greatest! ~ Terry 🥰

Ha! Glad I could help! So glad you could enjoy the Ingles.

This resource is so sensitive and helpful! We've unfortunately never made it to the Pilgrim House in person, but this debriefing guide which we found online last summer was just what was needed. Perfect, thank you!!

Hey everyone,

Just a note that Pilgrim House will close for 2023 this Sunday, December 3, and be closed until March of 2024. Usually we have a Christmas Eve party and then we close up for the year, but this year it's a bit earlier than usual due to staffing schedules.

It has been a wonderful year for the whole Pilgrim House team, seeing many of you. Happy holidays and Buen Camino!
