el camino from the 12th of april

hi all,

has anyone tried doing it with a hammack? I am thinking of sleeping out overnigth, but are not sure if it is too cold? I will start out the 12.th of april till the 11th of may. hope you can help me out.

Hi ulrikl,
If you decide to travel one of the more common caminos you will find many people to travel with. It may go better if you choose who to spend time with after you have met people since everyone walks at a different rate.
If you do start at SJPP for example, the albergues at Huntto (5 or so km up the hill from SJPP) and Orisson ( 8 or so km from SJPP) all offer dinner as part of the fee for staying over night. I've heard the albergue at SJPP is the same although don't know that for sure. The point is, you then have the opportunity to sit around a table on your first night with about 20 or so others who are also starting out. Many people are looking for someone to walk with in the beginning - especially over the Napoleon Route.
What generally seems to happen is that we all end out walking with a variety of people each day and that's part of what makes the camino so interesting and rich.
