¿English Teacher on the Camino?

New Member
Hola and Hello,

I recently visited Spain for my first time and completed the Camino Frances from St. Jean to Finisterre. Presently I am an english teacher in the north of Italy and have been here for 2 years now. I would like very much to experience more of Spain and above all else, help others in need. Seemingly, the immediate answer to that is to either be a hospitalero or continue teaching english somewhere along the camino. I am keeping both options available as I do not have a teaching contract for next yet and am very free to move on my own will.

If you have any information in regards to potential and possible openings for native english teacher, please feel free to email me at gd_thornton@yahoo.com

Thank you all so very much!
Greg

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Lovely scene Greg AND it looks like you're really enjoying it. You now belong to a special club. I do too, but at a much lower level, as I did Camino over a longer period of time. There are some postings here on Ivar's forum about opportunities to teach / share experiences with Spanish students in English. Also I know some of forum pilgrim members speak fluent english & spanish and have experience of dealing with teenagers, so perhaps you will get guidance. A colleague of mine who does'nt like to walk has recently returned from Spain complaining of unruly teenagers although last year was far more favourable.

Buen Camino.
