Fabric softener

Hi fellows, be careful with fabric softener cause it can ruin your technic clothing, specially the waterproof gear.

When the laundry's done by the owner/hospitalero be sure to tell if you don't want it added.

In those coin operated machines the softener is added automatically.

I guess everybody knows it but i thought it'd be a good idea to remind it.

PS: Fabric softener in spanish is suavizante.

I never use fabric softener myself - can't stand the chemical perfume smell - so it wouldn't even cross my mind as something to consider with regard to technical clothing, so that's good information.

Best avoided with wool and merino too, and everything with some elastic in the material. In short: it is best avoided. Bad smells, bad for the environment, bad for your clothes and bad for some people's skin.

Some of the laundry places we've been to had an option of non-softer washing.
