Am I the only fool starting the vdlp from Saville in February?

Hey @Waka
I'll be walking into Seville about a week after you as I'm starting out from Gibraltar and then up on the Via Serrana.
Just seen the long-term weather forecast and it indicates a large lump of snow as we head toward Galicia. So fearing another ''beast from the east'' I picked up a pair of snow spikes at Mountain Warehouse. Very little weight and £14. I'll try and catch up and PM you if I am getting close - so that you can provide that vino tinto you promised ;)

I am starting in mid-March but would February be better??
Not sure about the start dates, I picked Feb because I wanted to miss any hot weather. Had a training hike yesterday and it was swealtering, I’d rather have the cooler weather.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.

No problem with the vino Tinto. I also picked up some snow spikes on the off chance. I haven’t followed any weather forecast yet, quite looking forward to the surprises.

I'm starting from Valencia in February so will do the VDLP from Zamora to Astorga in the first half of March. All because I wanted to spend my March birthday on the Camino and we have to be in NZ for Easter. So if you are a fool, we are too.

Lets be all fools together and have a wonderful journey.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Lol! I started VdlP last Feb.17, and walked from Seville to Salamanca. Lots of cool mornings, but I didn’t see any snow. I packed YakTrax just in case. It was lovely! Buen Camino!

I wish I were a fool in February too.
In Japan, there is a festival (Awaodori) where people perform a traditional dance and sing "Those that dance are fools. Those that do not dance are fools. All are fools, so you might as well dance."

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
