First Camino - Little bit of guidance.

Afternoon Pilgrims.

We are booked to start our mini-camino on the 17th of July. Arriving in Porto and getting transportation to Tui/Valenca. As it is our first camino we are excited but also anxious. Weather seems to be random throughout the thread, In july I would assume Portugal/Galcia is basked in sunshine, although with the northly coast, this cannot be guaranteed. As well as that we have located Alberques along the way for us to stop in.
Camping was going to be an option just in case the walk is very busy, and as there does not appear to be any camping parks on the route I was wondering if anyone had guidance on this. I have read previously about the wild camping in portugal and as a seasoned camper throughout europe I wouldnt expect much trouble from the authorities over this.

Our aim is to reach Santiago on the 23rd of July before the feast takes place so we have St James to ourselves for a little while.

I will keep you all posted on our journey - I am from Ireland (living in London) and my girldfriend is Catalan, also living in London.

The posts have been very informative and obviously this thread has some experienced camino heads out there.

Any help or guidance or p[ointer or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards.

Tomas.

We are now in Ferrol after finishing the camino Ingles yesterday and we want to move direction Santiago to find a camping and from there we want to drive to Fisterre but the narrow roads keep me away from driving.further more is nothing untill Vigo. So for you as we did last year the Portugues walk from albergue to albergue and hostal to hostal. Great walk ! Bom caminho
