Camino de Frances in September/ October 2016
Hey fellow pilgrims, I'm in my hotel room in Bayonne and can't sleep due to the excitement and trepidation I'm feeling at beginning the Camino Frances tomorrow morning. The planning and preparation over the last nine months has been done and I'm good to go. Training has been limited due to work constraints, but I'm ready nonetheless.
I believe that had I not had the guidance and advice of Camino 'angels' on our forum, then the journey for me would be based on blind luck and faith. From the two layers of socks to a well researched packing list, the support has been there.
To name but a few, I would like to thank for practical advice @Mark Lee and @Bradypus. Our own Camino "Yoda" @SYates (wisdom, not looks!!) and of course the untouchable @mspath , who's advice and guidance with websites, equipment etc. is priceless. Without yours and many others advice/help on this invaluable resource, I might never have taken that first step....

Buen camino, Thomas! and if you think you are getting a blister change shoes asap to sandals.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I hope you are well on your way now and enjoying that spectacular first day! Green with envy here just thinking about it. I still remember the vultures near the summit and shouting at them: "B****r off - I'm not dead yet!" Ultreia!

Buen Camino Tommybhoy. It will be an amazing journey. I'll be walking in Scotland come Spring (ancestoral home).Your friends will be looking for you on 'Live on the Camino'. Stay safe.

If you can update us on what you think when you arrive in Pamplona. It is an interesting thing as how perspective changes as you move along.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
