I have been meaning to post all of these for a while. I was right there, right opposite the cathedral. I got choked up during part 2, lost it in part 3, and by part 5 was basically a blithering idiot. How did the organisers know all my favourite pieces of music?
Even watching it here again got me all emotionall! The site of the cathedral does that even under normal circumstances. This was anything but normal!
Speaking of music, I know the piece in part 2 is Mahler but I cannot place it. PLEASE can someone identify it for me? I would be so grateful.

Hi,
Its the very final part of his 8th symphony the chorus in it is called Alles ver gaengliche I think. Looks fairly spectacular!

Nell...thank you SO MUCH! Now of course I recognise it! I hope that everyone enjoys it and the others (The Mission - favourite film; Firebird - favourite ballet) as much as I did.
I'm going to be posting another one with simply extraordinary photos on my blog sometime this week.
