When is the best time of the year to do this route? When does it rain the most?

I walked it from mid August. It was superb weather. Quite hot at times but I did not mind.

I think summer is the rainiest. I walked Einsiedeln-Lausanne and Le Puy-SJPP in Septembers, got about one rain day per week.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The weather in that region is very unpredictable, as you can get dominant weather from Alpine/Continental, Northern or Southern French, with possible Mistral winds for good measure. The Alpine weather itself is unpredictable almost on an hourly basis, too, even the locals can't predict it. It will gradually become more predictable as you move out of the mountains, though you should not be surprised by presence or absence of winds or storms until you get well past the broad Rhône river valley system. I'd not worry too much about rain once you're out of the mountains, except the potential for storms.

Nevertheless, late Spring to early Autumn will likely be the best period.
