Walking Jun 29 - Aug 18, 2018. If we get done early, we'll tour Spain by rail
Hi Forum,

I was on here last year thinking my friend Cindy and I would be walking last year, (2017). But with the my mother passing in March and her husband passing in July, it was not to be. We are both doing well and postponed the Camino trip until summer of 2018.
We just booked our flight to Paris from DFW on Jun 21 and a return from Paris on Aug 24. We are both excited, worried if we will make it, yet determined to make it the whole way. We plan on spending just a few nights in Paris to see some sights. We want to hop a train to Chartres and visit the church with the labyrinth that is so famous. I believe we will need to take a bus over to the another train line that would take us to St. Jean. A day or two there to ready ourselves and then hit the trail.
I welcome comments or suggestions.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Now you did it! You have your tickets! I like your plan for two days in SJPP, and then hit the trail. Good luck with your planning and execution, you are going to have FUN! God bless, y que la luz de Dios alumbre su camino.

Thanks for the encouragement and welcome.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Welcome to the forum @Camper Annie and buen camino. You have given yourselves plenty of time to really enjoy the camino, and to see some of Paris on the way or on the way home.

I love Paris, it is such a walkers city. I particularly like the little family run boutique hotels, so my suggestion is to avoid the big impersonal ones and start feeling like a Parisienne from day one. Wander the neighbourhood of wherever you are, find the St Jacques landmarks, and think about all the pilgrims through the ages who have set out from Paris.

That's exciting for you both!! My husband and I had to postpone our 2017 Camino because of the death of my father and our daughter's wedding. We begin our Camino from SJPDP this June on the 21st, so we will be ahead of you...Enjoy yours! Your mom and your friend's husband will be with you along the way.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I sometimes wish I could use that magic pen from 'Men in Black' and erase all memory of my first Camino.
So I could experience it all over again...............and again..............:D:D:D

Hi Camper Annie, I really think the Camino will be a great experience for both of you, your passed loved ones we’ll sure be with you along your walk, and. It will give you a chance to be with your selves, enjoy every minute of it !!! Buen Camino peregrinas !!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
