It is just down the hill from the pilgrims office. One if my favorites since it is real home cooked food… nothing fancy. For the next time I arrive in Santiago
Not really... that area is usually pretty "packed"Do you ever go to O Gato Negro? Have tried to get in there a few times with out success, but I am not one to "push" through the crowds.
I went in May of this year. Two of us in the evening. We waited for about 15 minutes and then enjoyed an outstanding meal! And yes, the wine did come in bowlsDo you ever go to O Gato Negro? Have tried to get in there a few times with out success, but I am not one to "push" through the crowds.
I’d go for the Chipirones followed by Merluza a La plancha. Unfortunately I’m holed up in England but am booked into a Spanish restaurant next Wednesday with a Camino pal.View attachment 137564

I would certainly eat some Balearic octopus, in all its rubbery glory, but I may finally this year have had my fill of pulpo and etc.
I was massively spoiled on my 2014 in Portomarín, grilled food feast day, and a lovely Spanish peregrina just spontaneously got me some grilled meats and the pulpo they had, the latter being straightforwardly superior to any other I have eaten.
It's similar to how hard it is to enjoy any flan after you have been given a flán catalàn. And my first were in the 1970s ...
I spotted these posters for a festival weekend in a town on the Via de la Plata. Hard to imagine quite such a direct connection being celebrated here in the UK. Too squeamish!Although I often want to become a vegetarian in Spain because the distance between the actual animal and my meal seems very small.
For some, that freshness would be a distinct benefit.because the distance between the actual animal and my meal seems very small.
I don't know very much about UK's "Blackadder" although a few short clips I've seen are hilarious. I will say my older sister said a few years ago that she and her retired friends were becoming a bit "fluffy", as in a few pounds heavier....so much kinder than saying they were getting "fat".* although as‘Blackadder’ fans will recall; there is no word in German for ‘fluffy’
So true ..... in 2016 we were served a chicken meal, which we ate with relish, then watched with horror as out in the garden next door the next chickens met their fate for the later meal.I had pulpo cooked in the open air bbq - that included paella, meats and chips - at the Zafra Agricultural Show this year. It was amazing and I think the best I ever had, apart from one time in Portugal.

Tom , tell Ivar he's just had breakfast , there's no miles [ km's] in the legs and now he's into lunch and will without doubt be having the fresh tintoHad lunch there with our French friends a few years ago. There was plenty of room for all 8 of us.
