Hello everyone! I'm so excited to meet you all. I have been reading threads (and books and anything I can get my hands on) and feel I am as prepared as possible for my Camino next week.

I am an experienced hiker, so although I am 53, last year I walked 1600 km (1000 miles). I have already done 1000 km this year. I'm not used to doing 20+ km for 30+ days in a row, but I'm sure I'll arrive at Santiago eventually.

I had hoped to start off Oct 10, but life interfered. My home team (husband and two teenagers) have been very encouraging -- they were sorry I had to delay and really want me to be able to do this.

I have noticed, now that I'm going to be walking in November, that even albergues that claim to be open all year round are, in fact, not open in November. I'm not on a budget (although I don't want to spend a fortune and also don't want to miss out on what camaraderie does exist in November). More worrisome is the thought of being tired and cranky and finding nowhere to sleep. If I'm willing to pay more, will I be assured of SOMETHING?

Thank you for your help.
