heaven at the end of Camino

I almost hesitate to suggest this boutique hotel and just keep it as a perfect memory and secret for my wife and I at the end of our last walk of the Camino, but why not share the joy of a very, very comfortable bed, a cute room, a wonderful breakfast included daily, a perfect location next to the cathedral and very close to the tapas bars! I couldn't find a phone number on the net and lost their card, but here are the details:

HOTEL 25 JULIO
Avenida Rodrigo de Padrón, 4

It is right across the street from the police station and just a couple of storefronts from the Irish Pub Moore's (just for reference, get into the bodegas and tapas bars!).

I hope you love it as much as we did.

Buen camino,

Hi Doog,

I have heard good things about this place as well, too bad they only have 4 or 5 rooms. If I am not mistaking the cafe downstairs have free WiFi.

Hola Ivar,

You are correct on both points, just a handful of great rooms and WiFi. I actually asked someone on their laptop if I could shoot off a couple of emails and they were gracious enough to share.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
You know, I didn't realise that place was also a hotel! When I was there at the end of July, 25 de Julio was the place where I picked up an open wifi connection which allowed me to send a couple of emails back to my wife (I'd been snooping round town with my wifi Palm Pilot). When I got back to Santiago after the camino I went there again, both to check for messages and also to use the café and say thanks for the wifi service.

I can't give any comments on the accomodation but what I did see of the establishment left me very impressed.

Here's their telephone / fax: 981 582 295.

Pablo and Adrian are the guys that run the place and are very nice.

We also found a fantastic little boutique hotel, Costa Vella. We got it from John Brierley's guidebook and absolutely loved it, ended up staying 5 nights there and leaving with kisses and hugs from the extremely friendly, pleasant, helpful and nice management. Close to the cathedral (about 5 mins walk), on the old city wall with a little garden with a fountain and beautiful views. I would recommend it to anyone.
