Oporto to Santiago on the coastal route (2016)
Want to do the Lisbon to Oporto in 2018
My family is planning on walking from Lisbon to Oporto next fall (we did Oporto to Santiago in 2016).one of my nieces will only be able to join us for a week. What stretch of this camino route would you recommend doing if you only had one week?

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I'd do the maths - one week = 7 days x ?18 kms a day = 126 kms.
Your niece shouldn't miss the beautiful city of Porto - so maybe start about 120 to 130 kms from Porto?
Check my web site for details of when I did it!
Bom caminho!

The accommodation options betwen Lisbon and Porto are not the same as between Porto and Santiago, more limited. Lisbon to Coimbra: very physically demanding as 30+km a day to walk every day, sometimes long stretches without a cafe/water fountain in sight. Golega to Coimbra in my opinion the most picturesque in terms of nature. Coimbra to Porto less mileage to walk every day but more and more fences everywhere and a slightly urban/suburbal feel to it with a lot of road walking. Cobblestones as in the rest of Portugal. The town I loved the most on the way were Santarem, Tomar, Coimbra and Agueda. Walked there at the end of Oct. From Santarem to Sao Joao it took me 9 days. If you have 7 you could go from Santarem to Agueda. Central Camino follows the train line from Lisbon to Porto so you can chose a place to star and finish. Make sure you have at least a day before and after the Camino to see Lisbon/Porto and to have a rest.
